The skeletal design in watches definitely adds the wow factor, Walk past any window display and they always seem to stand out with their calibre's on display like exposed cleavage. I walked past the huge window display at Fraser Hart a few years back and was instantly allured. The Meccanico range are Emporio Armani's take on dress watches. They blend fashion and function to produce modern classic watches. I paid £300 for this watch but you can pick it up now almost half that amount or anything between, you just need to look around.

Reasonably weighty, but not too heavy to make it uncomfortable when typing for short periods, but only short periods. Its not meant to be worn all day at the office. I do from time to time, but i'll take it off to let my wrist breathe for a shot period.

This watch is most definitely in its element whilst you're sampling cigars, sipping single malt discussing market saturation & conquest with your business partners , at a restaurant or dinner party with your trophy girlfriend, sat below your driving gloves on an A road en route to your country spa, or cloaked by your dinner jacket sleeve unsheathed when you reach to top-up your guests glass of wine. Its a fashion/dress watch plain and simple and it looks stunning whatever the occasion. The strap is an average width of 20mm but looks wider due to the linkage effect of the strap. Its fastened by strong double folding push button clasp which adds to jewellery-esque feel of the watch. It almost feels like wrapping your wrist in ice before it warms to your body temperature making the donning of the watch the completion of your outfit. slick!

An automatic movement means low maintenance cost from past experience. No battery changes means no shipping off to the manufacturer for resealing. The inconvenience of having to wind & set the watch each time you wear it is a small price to pay for having a reliable and extremely sturdy timepiece. I bought this back when it was first released in the spring/summer season of 2010. It was my first expensive watch purchase. So far its stood the test of time and all the trials i've put it through. Unfortunately due to the fact Armarni, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Skagen and few others are manufactured by Fossil each using similar calibre designs, the watch watch doesn't appreciate in value like independent watch makers. Which fortunately means you can pick older watches like this at reduced prices if your search savy. Therefore for what it is, this watch is extremely affordable.
